Reviews from ProjectWedding:

My bridesmaids and I could NOT find anything we liked. Then I got the “seasonal” email and saw the perfect dress – and it wasn’t even in the Bridesmaids section, it was a special occasion dress!

Not to be cliche … but these are DEFINITELY dresses that can be worn again …. My BM’s sizes ranged from 2 to 24, and everyone looked gorgeous in the SAME DRESS.

They were online exclusive, and everyone got the right size, and got the dresses within a few weeks. It was amazing. One less thing to worry about!!!

Salespeople were friendly, helpful, and patient. They gave honest opinions and relevant suggestions. My dress came in much sooner than was expected.

Reviews from Yelp:

I’ve been here shopping as a Bridesmaid and Maid of Honor. I had such a horrible experience the first time, I spent hours begging the second friend to choose her dresses elsewhere, but to no avail… Therefore I didn’t really feel sorry for HER when we had to get the dress fixed from bad hemming 4 times, would have been 5 if the final screw up wasn’t the day before the wedding.  I did feel sorry for myself, though, for having to say “I told you so” 80 dozen times while listening to her cry over her ruined dress.  The most memorable irritation, though, came from dying shoes.  When I purchased them, they told me they’d be done within two weeks. I showed up the day before my ticket claimed to have them ready, but they were not… okay, yeah, whatever… but the thing is they dye them in the store, so there really isn’t any need to make people wait two weeks anyway, if they’re going to do it THE NIGHT BEFORE!  I lived in Athens at the time, it wasn’t exactly easy for me to drive back and forth.  When I returned to pick them up the next week (two days before the wedding) the lady said I had already picked them up. I said no, they hadn’t been dyed… she insisted that they were not in the store, and I insisted they best find a pair of red size 7 shoes because I had a receipt for such. 30 minutes later they brought them out with the box crushed, as if they’d been stored in the bottom of a junk pile.  They’ll try to sell you damaged floor models of shoes, dresses, and undergarments as well.  I had to request a supervisor because a salesperson insisted that I wouldn’t be permitted to take a new bustier because “we sell floor demos first.” The floor model was badly misshapen, torn, and had ink all over it. I had to threaten to demand a refund on the shoes and dress that I hadn’t picked up yet in order for someone to miraculously appear with a new bustier.  This is probably the only store I’ve been to where I have to get rude with the employees on each visit that I recall :(

To be honest with you, I didn’t want to purchase my dress at DB because I was thinking cheap looking wedding dresses. However, they do have some designer lines. I’m not talking Vera Wang or Melissa Sweet, but Oleg Cassili. I thought his line was beautiful! I tried on others as well but the quality wasn’t as good as Cassili. I went there because of the prices. They are very reasonable! My consultant Nikki was so nice and helpful. She was helping several brides to be, but she attended to each of us and stayed with us until we were finished. I did go on a Saturday and was ready for mayhem. There were several brides that had the same appointment as me and they were organized putting the brides with the consultants. I showed her some of the pictures that I liked and tried them on. She cleared out the dresses that I already tried on and told me the ones that she liked on me. She also put a veil and jewelry on me so I could get my total look. She was very patient with me because I tried some of the dresses on twice.  Even though it was busy, it wasn’t chaotic like I thought it would be. I actually had fun trying on the different dresses. I didn’t get it on Saturday because DB was the first store that I visited, but I went back on Monday and ordered it. Out of all the dresses that I tried on, I knew it was the one. I felt like a princess in it and didn’t want to take it off. Thanks to Nikki’s help and my mom’s credit card I now have the dress of my dreams!

J Crew
Company Info:
J Crew is a popular clothing store that became even more popular when First Lady Michelle Obama wore the brand at the 2009 inauguration.  Many people are not aware that J Crew also offers wedding dresses in select stores including the Lenox Mall, Atlanta location.  The Lenox J Crew offers a wedding specialist to assist with wedding dress selection, sizing, fabric selection and will track the delivery.  Some of the other items offered are shoes, bridesmaid attire, flowere girl and ring bearer clothing, and jewelry and accessories. The wedding dresses range in price from $395 to $2995 so they have a dress suitable for a wide range of budgets.

Reviews from Wedding Wire:

I ordered my wedding dress from J.Crew and was very pleased. It was very well represented in the pictures online. I got the size I normally wear in their dresses and it fit! I did have to have some minor alterations but they were no big deal. The dress came with a beautiful box and hanging bag. For the price I paid compared to some other brides I know, I think i definitely got the best value. Great dress at a fair price!

I bought my dress on clearance a few years ago, and added all sorts of appliques and flowers to it. The dress was an excellent base for our design plan. My sister wore the goddess dress and it was beautiful. My mom also wore JCrew and so did our men (groom, father in law, best man, etc). I have never seen a better dressed wedding!
ECarole

I worked with a J.Crew special even coordinator and he was the biggest help ever. My entire wedding was a J.Crew wedding… from my bridesmaids to the groomsmen all the way up to me!

LaRaines Boutique
Company Info:
LaRaine has been working in fashion for over 20 years.  Her bridal dress shop is located in the Virginia Highland area of Atlanta in a house that is 100 years old and has previously been a location where some have gotten married.  LaRaine’s Boutique provides custom gowns and onsite alterations and pressing.  The Boutique also offers discontinued styles at 50% off Tuesday-Friday.  In addition to wedding gown services, LaRaine’s Boutique also offers bridal party attire, jewelry, accessories, shoes and more.  Their wedding dress collection can be viewed from their website’s online showroom.  Wedding gowns are priced between $800 and $5000 and an appointment is necessary to shop for a custom gown.

Reviews from Bride and Groom Planner:

I only went in once and did not have an appointment, they let me gander around for a second, but they were incredibly rude to my friend and I. They have a great selection of dresses, and i might go back, I am not sure
Nicole

The staff here is so helpful and friendly. They have a large selection of bridal gowns at all different prices. I would recommend them to anyone.

Reviews from Yelp:

I’ve been reading the mixed reviews of La Raine’s and had to laugh because I had a really mixed experience of the place. The first time I went it was great. I was in a beautiful room with the sweetest, most helpful salesgirl and the owner popped in a couple times to offer comments. Some were critical, along the lines of that dress won’t flatter your figure, but that is exactly the kind of honesty I appreciate in a retail environment. And the dresses: no matter what else, La Raine has picked out some of the most gorgeous gowns I ever did see. There were some cotton gowns costing around $3,000 that I loved. But I just couldn’t bring myself to spend that much for something I am going to wear a few hours.
So I inquired about the downstairs basement sale and my lovely salesperson took me down to the bottom floor where gowns start at $99. I fell in love with a silk one that cost $800 and just wanted to bring someone with me to see it before I purchased. When I came back is when everything changed. I guess I was now down as a downstairs shopper and not worthy of the same attention. I guess I can understand that to a certain degree, BUT, I was given the worst salesperson in the world to help me. She was so awful and I have a witness to just how awful in so many little ways she was, that we actually left.  And you just don’t expect that at a bridal shop. I thought she must be new and probably on the verge of being fired on her first week at work but when we went back, who did I get, but her again. Upon reading some of the reviews here I think they are describing the same salesperson so she must’ve been around for awhile. She really doesn’t seem to know what she is doing. She would say things like “I can’t zip this dress; it is too small for you,” and then my friend would walk over and zip up the two sizes two large dress right up. Once I asked the salesperson to unfasten me out of the dress and she undid my bra instead. No big deal but when I called her back to the fitting room and said you need to undo the dress you actually just undid my bra, she started denying it vehemently. Anyone else would just whoops, sorry, let me undo the dress for you. But she just got weird like that on me so much that I just gave up leaving the store never to return. I did a lot of shopping for my wedding gown and this is the only place I actually had a bad experience. But the dresses are to die for if you have a few thousand bucks! And the basement sale is worth checking out. Most of those dresses are badly damaged but you might find the dress of your dreams for $200.

LaRaine’s has a surprisingly good selection of gowns considering that the store is a quaint looking two story house in the middle of the Highlands. I went alone. No mom putting in her two cents, no girlfriends trying to convince me to like what they like. Just me, me, wonderful, awful me!  To all the brides-to-be out there, I would highly recommend shopping alone at least once. Take mom to Lori’s…maybe she’ll be a sucker and buy you that $13,000 ruffle covered dress strategically displayed on the mannequin in the middle of the store?? If not, ditch Momsie and hightail it to LaRaine’s!

My sales associate Diara was good…Really goooood. She picked out “the dress,” an ethereal little number by a newish designer from Spain. I would never in a million years have tried it on if she hadn’t suggested it, but once I shimmied in and got all buttoned up (AND peeped the price without having a freaking heart attack), it was pretty obvious we had a winner. It hugs my curves without looking tarty. It’s got a touch of princess, but not so much that I feel the urge to de-princess myself by say a long string of four letter words.

LaRaine requires 50% down when you order the dress and the other 50% when the dress arrives. She handled the actual ordering of the dress herself and Diara called several times over the next few days to update me on the status of the order. I needed some time to marinate on the veil options….fast forward a month or so when I finally made my decision. I called Diara and she remembered me and the veil I had been leaning toward without having to pull out my file. I ordered the veil by phone and she offered me a nice little discount.

Overall a very good experience. The day I was shopping LaRaine said to me, “I will be your best friend during this process…not just when you’re shopping for the gown but from start to finish. I really want you to be happy.” Sounds hokey, but after spending time with her and seeing how much she loves what she does, I know she meant what she said.Sarah S.

Kelly’s Closet
Company Info:
Kelly’s Closet is an exclusive bridal salon that works by appointment only.  However, there is also a ready-to-wear option that is available without an appointment.  The website does not provide a lot of information on their wedding dress closet, however there is some interesting information about the general store, the store’s owner, Kelly and a list of rules for shopping at Kelly’s Closet.

Review from Yelp:

So many of my friends recommended Kelly’s Closet as a store with extraordinary service and a great selection of interesting wedding dresses — both of which turned out to be true!

Some of the dresses were samples that were marked down substantially. Though I didn’t go to their big sale, I’m sure they offered great deals. I went to Kelly’s twice and had a great experience both times. I called the day of and they were happy to fit me in, even at the end of the day. While I didn’t ultimately buy a wedding dress there, my sister found a cute sundress at a great price in the non-wedding side of the store the first time we went. Don’t forget that they don’t just sell wedding dresses!

I wanted to be sure and write a review because in addition to lots of beautiful dresses from smaller designers, they have amazing employees and customer service. They follow up with phone calls to see if you have purchased a wedding dress yet, and if you have and you got it somewhere else, they still sound happy for you and glad that you came into their store. Wonderful people! Such friendly and personalized service is hard to come by, I would think. This is the most relaxed bridal salon in town.

I love all the girls who work at this store!  They were so helpful, and I luckily picked the 2nd dress I ever tried on.  I was sold to their shop from the get go because I felt the attention was very personal.

Kelly and everyone at the closet made shopping for a wedding dress fun and low stress.  They stayed within my budget and were so helpful with every step.

I went to Kelly’s closet in April of 2007. I went in with an appointment, but there was a “bridezilla” in there needing everyone’s opinion and attention. Kelly told me to look around and grab a few things off the shelves to try on. I saw the perfect dress, tried it on, bought it within 20 minutes and left. I am not the type of person that wants to be fussed over or has to be admired, so this experience was perfect for me. The only thing is that we paid a lot of money for my dress and when I was putting it on to get married, two beads fell off and by the end of the night, one strap had broken. They did have an awesome selection of dresses, pricy but awesome.

Hi. I have been a Kelly’s Closet faithful fan for years. I started as a boutique shopper and then bought my wedding dress there. The bridal is hands-down, best-in-town amazing but the boutique is my favorite. If you want to find things that are beautiful, individualistic and creative, visit this shop! You will find things that you can’t find anywhere else in the city. Kelly has an amazing eye for fashion! Almost anytime I wear something that I bought at Kelly’s, I get TONS of complements.
As for the customer service, the closeteers are amazing. The lovely people at Kelly’s and Kelly herself are unbelievable knowledgeable, discerning and warm. They go above and beyond to help you find the things that are right for you.
It is my favorite place to shop.
Pros: amazing clothes, amazing customer service
Cons: it is expensive but you get timeless pieces that are worth it!

Impressions Bridal Salon
Company Info:
Impressions Bridal Salon is an upscale shop located the the Buckhead area of Atlanta.  The intimate wedding salon offers high-end dresses starting at $3500.  This is not the ideal bridal boutique for the budget conscious shopper, but can be ideal for those with deeper pockets.  All dresses are by top designers and each designer offers a trunk show with dates listed on the company website.  The salon is open from 10:00am until 5:00pm and operates by appointment only.

Reviews from Bride and Groom Planner:

I absolutely LOVED Impressions.  The customer service was excellent and I felt truly welcome.  I was never pressured or hurried.  I found my dream dress and have since been able to take my bridesmaids several different times to see it.  They always take such good care of me, answer all of my questions, and seem like they are genuinely happy and excited for me.  I highly recommend this salon to anyone.  The catch: don’t walk through the door if you’re on a budget – you’ll find “the one” and pay a lot more than you planned – but you’ll be happy!

THE WORST, MOST UNHELPFUL, RUDE, AWEFUL, DISHONEST, INSULTING PEOPLE EVER!
My fiancé ordered her wedding dress here and not only was it a month late getting here, it was the completely wrong dress so revealing that a street walker wouldn’t wear it, let alone a girl on her wedding day. My fiancé was devastated and rather than apologizing, the staff told her, “you didn’t order the other dress because we all know you couldn’t afford it.” With two weeks before our wedding, she was left with nothing to wear.
This was bad enough to make me post here just to publicize how truly awful this place is. DO NOT GIVE THEM YOUR BUSINESS.
Pros: Suggested we couldn’t afford the product
Cons: Got worse from there

After confirming my appointment with Impressions bridal I read the previous reviews from this website and admit that I was hesitant to go. WOW am I glad that I kept the appointment!! The price range, I admit, was completely not anywhere near what my mom and I had budgeted for and we certainly aren’t uppity people, but when you find “the one” there’s little that can change your mind. Trying to keep an open mind and just trying dresses on ‘for fun’ was the best thing I could have done. If you have been wedding dress shopping in Atlanta or any other major city, you know what quality gowns made from quality fabric cost by now. Impressions is no different. However, the service IS! My consultant was awesome to work with, I told her what I was looking for and she did her very best to show me gowns that looked similar to what I was envisioning. She was honest, understanding, and genuine. She even told me another bridal store to try that had a specific designer that carried the ‘look’. After trying on tons of gorgeous, unique dresses that simply weren’t me, my consultant made another suggestion that I hadn’t considered and put together an ensemble that made my mom cry and me breathe a sigh of relief!! I had FINALLY found exactly what I was looking for and there was no turning back. I highly recommend this salon and am so happy that I kept an open mind about the whole process. To me, I finally saw why it was worth the cost. It IS only one day, but it’s your ONLY day and it should be everything that you want it to be!
From an UNexcited viewpoint, the salon is very pricey, but the average price of a wedding gown made of natural fabrics is $2000-$4000. Even if your guests can’t tell the difference in the fabrics, you can. Also, don’t expect a large selection. The shop is very small and doesn’t carry a wide range of designers or price-points. Shop around, definitely, but don’t discount Impressions. You may just be missing out on the dress of your dreams.
Pros: small, private, non-pushy, elegant, knowledgeable staff
Cons: Expensive, small selection

Reviews from Bride and Groom Planner:

I made an appointment online with this boutique and had an email confirmation sent back to me that I was going to have an appointment at 12:30 pm on Sunday, August 23, 2009.  When I got there I found out they didn’t even open until 1 pm! That was strike one! I am already married…my hubby and I never had a wedding and while he is overseas fighting in this war I am planning our day (this will come into play later).  I mentioned I was already married..yadda yadda. The attendant I was placed with was very kind.  Her name is Jen. She was great and not pushy whatsoever! I found a dress I liked that was in my price range and decided to buy it and get one of the credit cards they offer and that way I would also receive a free veil.  I recently quit my job and so my hubby’s income is my income.  They would not accept that (even though I have power of attorney AND showed them my military ID that clearly states him as my sponsor). The owner of this shop is VERY rude and has little to NO business sense.  After dealing with an idiot man, he told her to come and help me with the credit card. She came over with an attitude and said, “So you are trying to put this card in your fiance’s name!?!” I explained to her (once more) that I was already MARRIED! She ran my credit (which is as close to perfect as they come anymore) and put in that my income was $0 so of course they declined me! Their prices are decent, but they are idiots (except Jen) and do not appreciate their customers at all! They have a wide selection, but it is a little grungy of a store. Hope this helps!
Nicole

I was told this is not a posh salon, but thought that I would still enjoy looking through their many dresses. The staff was not very friendly and the dresses seemed very dirty. They had good price points if you’re looking for a bargain.
J.

I like the fact that you can walk in on a Saturday and they are not super crowded.  They have a good selection of wedding dresses, but the bridesmaids dresses were not that appealing and the selection was not big enough. I would definitely recommend this store for a wedding gown.  You will spend between $300-$800 for a really good dress.
Melanie

They are great until you buy the dresses and they all of a sudden get rude and don’t want to help you. And all of the bridal gowns are overpriced.

I was very hesitant to keep my appointment with New Natalie’s after reading many of the posted reviews. However, I decided to go ahead and give them a try. At first I was greeted by an unprofessional and poorly dressed man who explained the process to me, which gave me little to no hope for the experience. But after meeting with my consultant, I was very pleased. She was very attentive and paid attention to all of the feedback I had given her on the dresses I tried on. She worked very hard to find something for me. Overall, I was please with New Natalie’s and suggest you give them a chance as well. If nothing else, the prices are GREAT
Pros: customer service
Cons: lack of variety

GREAT STORE

I have to disagree with the negative reviews of New Natalie’s, as I had a wonderful experience. I had an appointment first thing on a weekday morning. When I arrived, the owner told me that they were a more hands-off establishment (which I personally appreciate). He gave me a few tips based on my body type and then explained that I should choose 5 or 6 gowns to try on. Once I had chosen my gowns, Maria helped me to put them on and model them for my mother and close friend. She was so kind and helpful. After I had tried on the first few and we started to get an idea of what looked good and what I should look for, she began pulling a few gowns for me that she thought would fit my style. I’m still not sure if I’ve found “the one,” but I can say that I really appreciated the help that I got at this store. They were not at all pushy and did not try to get me to commit to buying anything. There was no pressure to choose a more expensive dress…in fact, they were very clear that I should try to only pull dresses that were within my range so that I wouldn’t fall in love with a dress I could not afford. This advice was helpful and well-appreciated. I asked Maria how long she had been assisting brides….her eleven years in the business is obvious. If you go to this store, I recommend going on a weekday and ask for Maria!

AWFUL EXPERIENCE SAY NO TO NATALIE’S
NReeder
I went to New Natalie’s Bridal to get my bridesmaids dresses for my wedding. My girls and I all had a bad experience with one of their representatives. Based off of measurements they took, they talked all my girls into going up a size even though a similar dress in the same designer and size fit perfect. When the dresses came back all of them were too big. How convenient I thought, since they have an on-site alterations department. (they convinced a girl who is a size 4 to go up to a size 10 because of her measurements, luckily she refused because the 4 fits perfectly on her). Secondly, this same representative was so rude to everyone when it came to measurements and taking payments over the phone. My last complaint was with their payment policy. Everyone doesn’t feel comfortably storing their credit card info on paper for files. And I was misinformed in the beginning about when we could pick up our dresses (which very well could have been my misunderstanding). They held all the dresses until everyone made their payment, which doesn’t quite workout if everyone doesn’t live in the same city.
*Plus they mark their dresses up way higher than the retail price with all their crazy fees. If you truely want to pay for the convenience and service of going through a Bridal store instead of on your own, I would pick a store with better customer service.
Definitely wouldn’t recommend this store for Atlanta brides. You should be the Diva, not the store.

Bel Fiore Bridal
Company Info:
Bel Fiore is an intimate bridal salon in Marrietta that provides individualized attention from one of their bridal consultants.  The company offers clients a variety of wedding gown options, bridesmaid dresses, tuxedos, and more.  Although walk-ins are welcome, an appointment must be made to try on dresses in order for the consultants to be able to focus on each clent.  They also offer a “seamstress on call” option and more information can be obtained by calling or visiting the store.  The company website allows customers to shop online or get an appointment shop in the store.  The website also has a calendar of upcoming events, offers an online shop tour, and provides a good amount of company information

Thanks a million Magdalina:
I had a wonderful experience at Bel Fiore Bridal on yesterday trying on wedding gowns which will be the best thing about preparing for my wedding day.  I thank you for being very detailed and informative on your dress sizes, style and time limit on ordering. Providing the best customer service is what you did and that is what makes a difference.

My experience at Bel Fiore was lovely. There is a great selection of dresses. But most importantly, the employees were delightful. They suggested all the right dresses that worked best for me. They really made my wedding dress shopping wonderful.

Great boutique
by annatucker09 at Citysearch
After hearing many horror stories about David’s Bridal, I vowed not to shop there for my dress or my bridesmaids dresses. I looked up bridal boutiques in Atlanta and visited Bel Fiore a few weeks ago in search for my dress. As soon as I stepped in the door, I knew this was where I’d find my dress. I love their intimate setting. My mom and I got the best treatment while we were there. Our consultant Diara made sure we had all of her attention and she really cared about what I was going to look like on my special day.
I found my dream dress and can’t wait to shop there for my bridesmaids dresses too! Skip David’s and head to Bel Fiore, you’ll be so happy you did :)
Pros: Intimate

Thank you Again!

Dear Ladies at Bel Fiore,
Thank you so much for all your help. Everybody loved my dress!
The sash and veil made my whole look so elegant and I’m so happy that you were here to help me pick everything out.
We had a great wedding day. I wish you all the best.
Thanks again.
Pros: Very willing to help every time I visited.
Cons: I’ll miss you!

Ok, granted I’m a first time bride and it was my first time in a bridal store, but I picked Bel Fiore after reading all of their great reviews on citysearch.  I, personally, find it ridiculous that you’re “expected” to spend an outrageous amount of money on a dress you’ll wear once, but I was a little worried of the reaction I might get when I told them my budget.  From the minute I walked in the door, Magdalina, my consultant, made me feel very welcome, and didn’t flinch at the sound of my price limit.

Having a beach wedding, I had a good idea of the style I wanted.  I was adamant I didn’t want a strapless gown.  Magdalina encouraged me to try on a number of different styles and even bridesmaid dresses.  A few dresses in, I tried on one of those bridesmaid dresses (strapless) and knew I needed to look no further.  Even though I did try on more, nothing compared to that dress.  It was even well below my already limited budget.  I had a wonderful experience with Bel Fiore and highly recommend it.

Yay! I bought my wedding dress here…spent more than I was wanting to, but I am very excited about it.  The one I decided on was actually newly in, and on a mannequin in the window, but Meghan graciously pulled it down for me to try.  They tell you to choose 4 dresses to start, but Meghan pulled a couple more that she thought I would like as well.
The store seems fairly new…it’s in a strip center across from the East Cobb Avenue.  They have a pretty large selection, organized by fit, like ballgown, empire waist, A-line, etc.  They also do bridesmaid’s dresses at a discount if you get your dress there, and have a deal with Saavy Formalwear for tuxes and such.
